Assistant Accountant
The Role
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support the Finance Manager in a variety of financial functions. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for processing expenses, managing payroll, issuing invoices to clients, and assisting with a range of other accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, efficiency, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all financial transactions are handled with precision and accuracy.
While this role is remote, candidates must be based in Ireland and possess a driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of financial and management reports on a monthly basis.
Recording of transactions in accounting system
Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable & Receivable and all subcontractor payments.
Prepare payment runs for review and ensure they are in line with the cashflow forecasts.
Reconcile Bank Accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare accruals and prepayments for management accounts.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparation of VAT/RCT returns.
Assist with year-end accounts for audit and tax.
Process employee expenses and ensure compliance with company policies.
General administrative support, Inventory control and other ad hoc duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience of 2+ years in an Accountancy role. A degree in Accounting is preferred.
Ability to manage tasks and changing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to work on own initiative.
Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and organisational skills
Competent IT skills. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation.
