    Paul O’Reilly is the Chairman and founder of Watt Footprint.

    Paul is an award-winning entrepreneur, speaker, author and energy consultant with over 25 years experience. He has been an advisor for both public and private sector organisations for energy efficiency and cost savings, including interpreting government and international legislation and advising businesses on financial models to capitalise on green funding opportunities including grants and supports. In 2016, Paul published a non-fiction guide for the Irish citizen to save energy in the modern world. The book had the same title of his company today; Watt Footprint.

    Paul was the co-founder of the international engineering firm ORS which he sold in 2019.

    Paul Mahon is the CEO and founder of Watt Footprint. He provides visionary leadership to the team, is at the crux of all major decision-making within the company, and drives Watt Footprint towards betterment and growth, both internally and internationally.  

    Paul has been working in the sustainability sector for the last 7 years. Having worked with Paul O’Reilly as part of the international engineering firm ORS previously, he was headhunted for based on his performance, technical, and intrapersonal skills.  

    Before stepping into the role of CEO at Watt Footprint, Paul hurled underage for Coolderry, County Offaly. He also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Paul now leads the rapidly growing team at Watt Footprint with enthusiasm, intelligence, and wit.

    Shereen is the Finance Manager at Watt Footprint. Shereen plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial health of the business.  

    Shereen has been working in finance for 14 years and and has worked across a range of industries, such as within Travel, IT, Consultation and Services, and Telecommunications Software Development. She has a bachelor's degree equivalent as a Part Qualified member of the ACCA, with a diverse background across multiple industries.

    Heather is the Human Resources and Training Director at Watt Footprint. She is dedicated to developing our most valuable asset—our people—while also leading the Smart Energy Management Academy (SEMA). Since joining the company in 2022, she has been pivotal in building a skilled and dynamic workforce in the energy sector. Passionate about fostering a strong company culture, she ensures that employees have the support, development opportunities, and environment they need to thrive.  

    Previously a Captain in the Royal Engineers, Heather honed her leadership and training expertise in challenging operational environments. From her time at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, she brings a deep understanding of leadership, team development, and mission-focused execution—ensuring that Watt Footprint’s people and culture remain at the heart of its success. Her experience in high-pressure situations allows her to approach problem-solving with both a strategic and people-first mindset. 

    When she’s not at work, Heather can usually be found painting, surfing, or chasing her two unruly dogs around the hills, with absolutely no real authority over them whatsoever.

    Jenny is the Head of Sales and Business Development at Watt Footprint. Jenny leads the sales team, manages partnerships and drives brand growth across Ireland, UK and UAE. 

    With 6 years’ experience working with Failte Ireland Jenny was responsible for bringing millions of euros of tourism-revenue into Ireland through her expertise in business development, sales and marketing. Jenny worked across Ireland, UK, USA, UAE, and Europe, as such, Jenny has a key role in the international expansion of Watt Footprint. 

    Jenny holds a master’s degree in International Business and has travelled to six out of seven continents in the world.   

  • Stephen St Leger

    Stephen St Leger is the UAE Country Manager of Watt Footprint, responsible for overseeing operations and driving business development in the region. 

    He is a sustainable energy engineer with a postgraduate degree in NZEB Design and holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), and ISO 50001 Auditor. 

    Stephen has extensive experience in industrial energy efficiency, energy auditing, energy management, net-zero master planning, and ISO 50001 implementation. As the former head of Watt Footprint’s Technical Studies Department, he played a key role in tripling the team’s size and expanding operations across Ireland, the UK, and the UAE. Currently, he is focused on growing the company’s presence in the MENA region while pursuing an MBA to strengthen his strategic and leadership capabilities.  

    Stephen is passionate about competitive fitness, and last summer he completed four marathons and one ultra marathon within only 7 weeks in order to raise €10,000 for Mary Mount Hospice.

    Euan Keighleyis the UK Business Development Manager at Watt Footprint. With an MSc in Energy Management, he is focused on growing Watt Footprint's UK presence through strategic partnerships, innovative solutions, and client-focused initiatives. 

    Euan’s experience includes working with some high-profile clients like Apple and LinkedIn on their EU headquarters. He designed and managed smart and smart-ready building solutions. Based in London, Euan engages with clients to deliver tailored monitoring solutions that visualise utilities, air quality, and occupancy data on IoT platforms.

    Euan has authored white papers and articles on digital buildings, indoor air quality, and digital twins. He has presented at industry events, seminars, and roundtable discussions. 

  • Shima Yousefi Garjan

    RESEARCH SCIENTIST

    Shima Yousefi Garjan is a Research Scientist at Watt Footprint and a certified BER Assessor for Non-Dwellings, accredited by SEAI. She plays a key role in developing energy efficiency solutions, focusing on data-driven insights to support sustainable building performance. 

    Shima has been instrumental in the creation of the Watt Footprint web and mobile app, enabling businesses to monitor and optimize their energy consumption. She also specialises in modelling hotel and office buildings using IES VE and Revit to develop retrofit scenarios for enhanced energy efficiency. 

    Shima is a PhD candidate researching digital twins and optimizing renewable energy sources. She brings advanced simulation and data analytics expertise to the sector. In recognition of her contributions to energy innovation, she was awarded the Adapt and Innovate Award 2024 for her work at Watt Footprint.

    Finula is the Residential Project Manager at Watt Footprint. She manages the residential element of the Communities Energy Grant program, overseeing energy efficiency retrofit projects from application to completion. 

    Finula holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and Accounting, complemented by extensive experience in accounts payable and receivable within the energy sector. Assisting in financial reporting, tax preparation and budget management. 

    Finula holds a Diploma in Music from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and has dedicated many years to teaching music to students of various ages. Her dual passions for finance and music reflect her diverse skill set and commitment to excellence in both fields.

    Mary-Kate O’Mahony is a Marketing Executive at Watt Footprint. Her role includes content creation & strategy, social media management and market research to enhance brand visibility and identify growth opportunities, as well as driving the company’s marketing strategy as it expands into the UK and UAE markets.

    Mary-Kate is a recent masters graduate in Management and Marketing from University College Cork (UCC). Her master’s dissertation focused on developing social media strategies, website optimisation, and branding to support a product launch for her placement company, showcasing her practical marketing insights. 

    Mary-Kate’s experience in marketing across various different industries has given her a well-rounded skill set in brand strategy, digital marketing, and customer engagement.

    Pedro Silva is an Energy Engineer with a background in Environmental Science and Technology, specializing in sustainability, decarbonization, and energy efficiency. 

    Since 2022, Pedro has been working as an Energy Engineer at Watt Footprint, where he helps businesses achieve their sustainability and energy objectives. His responsibilities include conducting energy profile analyses, recommending energy-efficient upgrades, and writing grant proposals for government sustainability funds to secure financial support for energy improvements. 

    Pedro has extensive experience in conducting energy audits and carbon reporting, as well as designing energy-efficient solutions for various systems, including Heat Pumps, Boilers, Biomass Boilers, CHPs, HVAC, and Solar PV. He also contributes to the submission of tenders and collaborates with contractors to develop tailored solutions for clients.

    Kevin Folan is the Technical Manager at Watt Footprint, overseeing the metering department and leading the deployment of energy monitoring systems. With over 15 years of experience in the energy, construction, automation, and manufacturing sectors, Kevin ensures innovative and sustainable solutions for clients across Ireland. 

    A certified electrician with degrees in Mechatronics and Process/Engineering Management, Kevin is also a PMP-certified Project Manager and Certified Machine Safety Engineer. His expertise spans managing large-scale installations and delivering tailored solutions to meet complex technical challenges.

    Throughout his career Nicolas has been committed to putting clients first, embracing the philosophy of consistently providing more value than expected. He is also the author of a non-fiction book on Customer Service Excellence, sharing insights on building strong customer relationships. 

    Outside of work, Nicolas enjoys outdoor pursuits whenever possible, having previously played tennis at a inter-provincial level.

  • Su Heffernan

    Su Heffernan is an Energy Engineer and a part of the technical studies team, working directly with clients from varying sectors carrying out energy audits. Su analyses client's energy spending, and uses the data to recommend savings opportunities. After a project route is chosen, Su works with the client to identify suitable grants to aid the project. 

    Su graduated top of her class in Environmental Science at university and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).  

    Su was a dedicated member of the Women in STEM committee throughout college and wrote her thesis on the Chemical Catalytic Combustion of Butane.

    Tommy Noone is an Energy Engineer at Watt Footprint. He participates in the energy auditing process, visiting clients and providing them with sustainable project solutions and upgrades. 

    Tommy graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a master's in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Zero-Carbon Technology. Tommy’s focus throughout university was on renewable technology. He wrote his thesis on Control Technology for Ocean Wave Energy Converters and Senior Project on Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines. Before coming to Ireland from Pennsylvania, Tommy earned his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Loyola University Maryland.  

    While at Loyola University, Tommy was a part of the Division 1 team on the swimming and diving program.

    Eoighan-Rua McGowan is an Energy Engineer at Watt Footprint, working across the Technical Studies and Project Delivery teams. Eoighan-Rua conducts energy audits to identify cost-savings upgrades and helps clients implement them through grant acquisition and project management, delivering sustainable solutions that reduce energy costs and environmental impact. 

    In his first year at Watt Footprint, Eoighan-Rua was honored with the Top Performer of the Year award, reflecting their commitment and contribution to the team. He was also proud to receive the "Don't Be an Activist, Be an Actionist" award, recognizing his proactive approach to delivering meaningful results for clients and the business. 

    Outside of work, Eoighan-Rua is proud to represent Sligo at the inter-county level in hurling. His national success is prioritised and admired by Watt Footprint.

    Fergal is working as a project energy engineer at Watt Footprint. While working in the Technical Studies department, Fergal has conducted a wide variety of energy audits for clients. Continuously helping businesses reduce their cost, energy usage and carbon footprint. 

      In University, Fergal’s dissertation focused on Characterising the Performance of an Integrated Heat Pump – which involved analysing operational efficiency and overall functionality of these type of systems. Fergal has recently taken on a new role overseeing several new hires within the company. He is actively involved in guiding the graduate engineers, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in the field. 

     Fergal received the Team Player award from Watt Footprint in 2024. Recognising his collaborative spirit, dedication, and the positive impact he has made within the team. Fergal also plays Gaelic football and hurling with his local club in Co. Leitrim.

    Timmy is an energy engineer in the technical auditing department for Watt Footprint. He started working in this sector after graduating from the University of Limerick in 2014, primarily focusing in the areas of renewables, energy efficiency and energy systems. 

      He followed up his studies in NUIG, completing an Engineering Masters in Energy Systems. He has also completed certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Energy Manager.   

    Timmy is a free-diver and qualified scuba diving instructor.

    Diarmuid is an Energy Engineer with Watt Footprint, who liaises with clients on site to discuss energy needs and assess potential for increased energy efficiency and project grant eligibility.  

    Diarmuid graduated from UG with a Master in Energy Systems Engineering. Over the past 5 years he has developed a diverse skillset in the application of renewables and smart buildings design alongside project management. Diarmuid wrote his master's thesis on the impact of large-scale development of offshore wind energy on the fish of the North Atlantic and North Sea. 

    Diarmuid received the award for the ESB Smart Grid Innovation Project for my design of a heat recovery system from data centre waste heat for district heating and hot water applications.

    With a detail-oriented approach and a strong commitment to excellence, Justina works hard to contribute effectively to financial processes and problem-solving. Her goal is to grow professionally while helping Watt Footprint to achieve our financial objectives. 

    Justina spends a lot of time outdoors and enjoys camping everywhere from Wicklow to Virginia.

    Harvey has led campaigns targeting the Ulster and Connaught regions, helping companies uncover opportunities for significant energy savings. His work has directly contributed to increasing Watt Footprint's market presence in these areas. 

    Harvey also has a MSc in Marketing and Management from University College Cork. Equipping him with a strong foundation in strategic thinking, market analysis, and relationship management.

    Ronan Connor is a Data Analyst at Watt Footprint, working with the R&D and Metering Teams. I create energy monitoring dashboards based on clients' needs, delivering insights into energy usage, and monitoring data streams to identify anomalies and ensure accurate reporting. 

    In 2022 I returned to college to complete a HDip in Software Development at ATU Galway, graduating with first-class honours. 

    During my time in Galway, I worked on several short films in the audio and post-production departments, with their work being showcased at film festivals, including the Galway Film Festival, Kilkenny Film Festival, and the Short Film Corner at Cannes.

    Jack Marshall is Watt Footprint's Embedded Systems Engineer, working as part of the R&D team. He oversees the design and development of hardware devices used in metering. 

    Jack's notable achievements include the development of Watt Footprint's internally developed, energy-efficient, 4G metering device that is being deployed as part of Watt Footprint's pilot program. 

    With over a decade of experience in the field of embedded systems, Jack has contributed to numerous projects and possesses vast knowledge of various electronic designs, with a particular emphasis on low-power devices and wireless communications.
